HOW TO USE MANIC PANIC HAIR COLOUR How to dye your hair using Manic Panic Classic Cream Hair Colouror Manic Panic Amplified Cream Hair Colourwhich lasts up to 30% longer.
Follow these instructions to achieve the best results when using MANIC PANIC semi-permanent hair dyes.
MANIC PANIC Hair Colour is a semi-permanent hair colour which conditions. MANIC PANIC hair colour is fortified with a herbal and protein complex. This unique formula is gentle to the hair and contains no animal by-products . It can be used to achieve intensely bright colours on hair that has been pre-lightened to a very light blonde using Manic Panic Flashlightning 30 VOL bleach kits for people with longer hairor Manic Panic Flashlightning 40 VOL bleach kitsor on some natural blonde hair. Some colours, particularly the darker reds, dark purples, or dark greens may give a highlight of colour to natural dark unbleached hair, and may be brighter on lighter and more porous hair. A strand test is recommended to verify colour on your particular hair.
MANIC PANIC formula Hair Colours do not damage the hair as they actually have restorative properties, adding moisture and "fill" to processed hair.
MANIC PANIC Hair Colour should be used exactly as it is supplied without adding any other substances. Do not under any circumstances add peroxide to MANIC PANIC Hair Colour. Do not mix with permanent colourants.
MANIC PANIC Colour may temporarily stain the skin and may permanently stain clothing, bedding, towels, and other materials. Do not use any alkaline products in conjunction with MANIC PANIC Hair Colour. This will upset the acid balanced state necessary for maximum absorption of MANIC PANIC colour by the hair. If setting lotions or blow dry lotions are required to be used, low pH, non alcohol based products are recommended.
Avoid eye contact. This product must not be used for dying eyelashes or eyebrows. If eye contact does occur, rinse immediately with luke warm water and contact Doctor or Physician for help. MANIC PANIC is NOT for internal use. Keep out of reach of small children and pets.
For the most intense results the hair should be porous, bleached or tinted. When applied to virgin (unprocessed) hair the results will vary according to hair texture and colour.
PATCH TEST: A patch test should always be conducted before using any hair colour product. 1. Select a small test area, about the size of a ten pence piece , behind the ear or in the inner fold of the elbow. 2. Wash the test area gently with mild soap and water. Dry with a clean towel. 3. Cover the clean test area with a thin coat of the desired shade of MANIC PANIC Hair Colour. 4. Allow the test area to dry. Leave it uncovered and undisturbed for 24 hours. 5. Examine the test area carefully. If there are any signs of irritation then under no circumstances should the product be used on the person tested.
STRAND TEST: To be sure that the desired results will be achieved, apply the MANIC PANIC colour in the manner described below using just a small lock of hair before attempting to dye a larger area. PRE LIGHTEN YOUR HAIR: Pre Lighten your hair using A Manic Panic Flashlightning 30 VOL or 40 VOL bleach kit as appropriate for your hair lengthIf you want your result to be bright and your hair to appear the colour as it looks in the jar then it is necessary to pre-lighten the hair. If you are going for a lighter colour or a pastel shade, it is essential to lighten to a white / blonde. Bleach your hair according to the instructions in the kit. Make sure you have thoroughly shampooed all of the bleach out if you want to use MANIC PANIC hair colour immediately after as bleach residue left over in the hair can prevent hair colour from processing properly. Shampoo: Shampoo your hair thoroughly using a pH acid balanced shampoo. Rinse completely to remove all residue. Towel dry, leaving hair slightly damp. Protect: Wear protective plastic or rubber gloves for application. Use petroleum jelly or baby oil around the hair line and on the ears to prevent colour from staining skin. Apply: Empty the desired amount into a plastic bowl (1/2 jar for short hair, a full jar for long hair). With the aid of a tint brush, apply the colour beginning 1/2 inch from the scalp and working it evenly through to the ends of the hair. Begin at the nape of the neck and work upwards through the head of hair. Be sure to completely saturate the hair shaft. Continuously comb the colour through your hair until it becomes frothy. This indicates that it has been thoroughly absorbed. Lighter shades of MANIC PANIC Hair Colour may require more combing to obtain maximum penetration and a longer lasting effect. WAIT: Leave the colour on the hair for 15 minutes or longer. MANIC PANIC hair colour will process fully in 15 minutes at normal room temperature. The use of an infra red heat lamp will reduce the processing time to between 5 and 7 minutes and can produce a deeper colouration with longer lasting properties. For resistant hair, it is advisable to place a plastic cap on the hair, and leave on for 30 minutes or longer.
Rinse the hair thoroughly, away from your face. Due to the restructuring properties of the product, no after-treatments are necessary. KEEPING YOUR COLOUR: MANIC PANIC hair dye is a semi-permanent hair colour that is made from natural ingredients with herbs like chamomile, it contains no animal by-products which mostly sit on top of the hair. It penetrates the hair follicle best if the hair is porous (which is why we suggest it will show up best on processed or bleached hair and more as a strong highlight over natural or darker hair) . Which means that, depending on the condition of the hair, the results will vary. There are no harmful chemicals in MANIC PANIC hair colour that damage the hair like chemical-based permanent hair colours. In all cases, shampooing and exposure to elements (swimming, hair spraying, etc.) will cause the hair colour to fade. One trick to making your Hair Colour more permanent is to rinse your hair with vinegar immediately after colouring. This raises the pH level of the hair colour and gives it more permanence. (Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water, comb through hair and let sit for a minute or two, rinse out thoroughly). FOR HAIR COLOUR THAT LASTS UP TO 30% LONGER, TRY THE NEW RANGE OF Manic Panic Amplified Cream Hair ColourGETTING THE HAIR COLOUR OUT: Use of an alkaline shampoo will promote removal of colour from the hair. Colour may also be professionally covered with a darker, natural shade of MANIC PANIC Hair Colour. A pre-packaged hot oil treatment may further accelerate the removal of colour: Follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully for application of the oil. To remove oil along with some colour, first apply shampoo without the addition of water. Add water very gradually as you continue to shampoo until the oil is completely removed. Consult with manufacturers of lightening and colour removal products before attempting their use or get the advice of a professional hair dresser. |
